Please follow these rules. I don't want to have to ban anybody, or even suspend their activity.
1) No Spamming!
This is a big rule, and it covers:
- Posting 1 word/sentence replies
- Posting meaningless replies/topics
- Repeated double posting (remember, you can edit and delete your own posts!)
- Posting topics in the wrong board
- Consistent bad spelling/grammar that could have been easily avoided (Bad grammar bothers me a lot, but I won't give anyone any real warnings over it.)
2) No Discrimination
This covers:
- Racism
- Sexism
- Religious hatred
- Personal flaming
These are all looked on as being very serious. You wouldn't use racist language in real life (and if you did, you would probably be carted off to the police) so do not use it online.
3) 18+ or Illegal Links/Images
Do not post images of an illegal or explicit nature on here. I do NOT want to see any adult images or links to adult sites on here.
The last thing we want is a member grounded from using the computer because he clicked on the wrong topic while their parent was in the room.
4) No Member Bashing
In essence, do your best to not continually insult or abuse a member.
5) No Staff Bashing
Us staff members get no payment for our labors looking out for the boards, and as such we kindly ask you to respect us. We are not gods, we make mistakes, but don't think you can abuse us.
6) No Mini-Modding
What this means is if a member spams, double posts, bumps or breaks any of the above or below rules, do not post anything about it or anything that will make you look like a moderator. It is the mods' job to handle these things. However, if you wish to advise us about it, feel free to drop us a PM. We're not always looking and we can easily miss something that may be upsetting you. (I may let some members that I really know and trust get away with this a little)
7) Cursing
I would like to see very limited use of vulgar language. I do not appreciate reading it. I may be a little lax with it IN character, but OUTSIDE of character, such language will NOT be tolerated.
8) Rules for IC interaction
A. No godmoding. I will combine this with power-playing here, as I can never remember the difference. I will get to posting a thread about that later.
B. Character deaths are also covered in this thread on point 4. In short: You can die, and by creating a character you acknowledge that it can be killed. If it seems that there is an interaction wherein it would die, dropping the thread is not an appropriate way to deal, as it leaves others hanging. Please instead contact the other players directly, or go to a moderator.
- if it is clear that you will die and there is no other alternative, a mod may rule this to happen.
- By dropping the thread, you may forfeit your character, as you are no longer around to save it.
C. Do not argue with a mod's ruling in a thread; if you think it unfair, you may appeal for a second opinion, but you may not simply argue. The issue will be resolved by the mods.
D. As a general rule, NPCs and untaken characters will be played by the moderation team - usually world moderators. Exceptions must be given permission by the mods first.
Lastly:
DO NOT BE AFRAID OF STARTING THREADS!
If you have an idea for a discussion topic, serious or not, do not afraid of starting a topic about it. Just make sure it is in the right forum and does not break any of the above rules (which is amazingly easy) and you are all set.
THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE OF ALL:
If you are not sure, send a PM (private message) to a staff member. For any reason, we will help in any way we can.
